HILO – As part of Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s New Day Work Projects, a groundbreaking ceremony today marked the start of a $14 million state Department of Transportation project to construct a modern cargo building and light industrial facility at Hilo International Airport. Once completed, the 63,000-square foot building will serve the cargo needs of the East Hawaii community, making the work of cargo handling companies and freight forwarders more efficient and convenient.

Parking News 

 

The state Department of Transportation advises air travelers and motorists of the following parking modifications at the Honolulu International Airport:

·   Beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, the Economy Lot (Lot J) will be closed to prepare for construction projects in the Elliott Street area. Alternate parking will be available in the Commuter Terminal Lot (Lot B) at the same rate of $12 per 24 hours or fraction thereof. The airport Wiki Wiki Shuttle stops at the Commuter Terminal and provides service to the Overseas and Interisland Terminals.

The state Department of Transportation advises air travelers and motorists of the following roadway modifications at the Honolulu International Airport:

·   There are no current advisories for roadway modifications at HNL.
